Let's make your Windows XP Start Up Faster

I'm a bit very frustrated when I have to wait for my Windows XP based computer to start and ready to use. When I compare the performance with the newly installed Windows XP computer, I can see huge different between them. Until I noticed that there are many program loaded on my task bar, then I start to look for the way to stop those program load at Windows XP start up without my permission.

Let's see how to remove those unwanted programs.

Click Start->Run, enter "msconfig" and press "Enter". System Configuration Utility window will display on the screen.

Please note that do not remove the necessary program from the list because it can cause your computer does not work properly.

At System Configuration Utility window, goto "Startup" tab. You will see a list of programs that will be automatically loaded at start up. Those items with checked, they will be loaded. So, more checked item on the list, it means more time your computer will take at start up time. At here, you can uncheck those program that you do not want to use or you can open them later. Then, click "OK".

Restart your computer and you should notice that it starts up quicker.
